Ready to party?! The Westmoreland Cultural Trust resumes their free summer concert series on Thursday, May 30th, 6pm - 9:30pm. Join friends in Megan's Suite and its adjoining Courtyard next to the The Palace Theatre for free music from great local musicians, drinks and delicious food fresh from Caffé Barista’s kitchen!

Many of our old favorite bands are back with six new artists this year. We are fortunate to have so much talent locally and want to give all the musicians a chance to perform in the courtyard which has become a much sought-after venue. We anticipate the return of some of our favorite bands from 2012 next year.

Check out our schedule – we have something for everyone! Our new music groups this year are, Josh Carns Trio (jazz), Wicked (classic rock , top 40’s and blues), Joshua Ben Trio (jazz), Darryl & Kim (classic 70s, 80s, R&B) Hamilton Avenue (classic rock) and Michael Christopher (country).

We are a sponsor of JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Each week WCT volunteers will collect contributions to this outstanding organization making huge strides towards finding the cure for diabetes 1. Last summer we collected $1000 for JDRF.

Every year we have a bartender challenge- the bartending duo that brings in the most money in bar revenue and tips wins that challenge. Sean Cassidy and Libby Jones have taken the honors the past 5 years. This year we’ve added another component to the challenge. The bartenders that bring in the largest crowd will be the winners of the MOST PEOPLE category.

Last year’s inaugural golf outing at Hannastown Golf Club dawned a beautiful cool morning that turned into a perfect afternoon. Monday, June 3^rd will be even better! We are revisiting the super venue for last year’s Golfin’ A Round for the Arts and welcome the opportunity of working with golf pro, Craig Mankins, at Hannastown Golf Club.

Registration begins at 11a.m. followed by a shotgun start at noon. A hotdog lunch is provided during registration. This is a shamble format with all players teeing off then selecting the best drive. Each player plays in from the best drive until the balls are holed for each player. The best two of four gross scores are recorded.

Skill prizes include Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive in Fairway and Longest Putt. Thank you to Smail Auto Group for sponsoring a Hole in One Contest on Hole #11 – (winner takes 10K) and Hole #15 - (winner takes home a new vehicle.) Putting Contest winner leaves $1,000 richer!

Steaks will be grilled to perfection as each foursome completes the course. Following dessert, winners will be announced and prizes distributed. Sponsorships are available.
